Imokilly Motor Club Championship awards night.

The Thatch bar in Ladysbridge was the venue on Saturday last January 29 for our annual social and club Championship awards night. After some opening words from our Chairman Derek Power on the motor sport year just gone and the many successful events which the club ran in 2010 it was straight in to the presentations. Many awards were presented across all the classes covering Forestry, Tarmac, Night Navigation Rallies and Karting.

A number of special achievement awards were also given out on the night to club members who had some great achievements in 2010 these being Brian O'Keeffe who was the overall winner of the Cork City Rallysprint, Paul Mulcahy and Karl Baumann who won the Halloween Historic rally in Carrig-on Suir last October and Joe Fitzgibbon who was the overall winning co driver in the 2WD section of the National Forestry Rally Championship.

Our club man of the year award went to Richard O Brien and the Marshals award went to Jerry Byrnes. The final awards of the night were our overall club championship Driver and Navigator of the year and these went to Mark Dolphin and Joe Fitzgibbon. Well done to all award winners on the night and here's hoping 2011 will be every bit as successful as 2010 for all our members.
